With over 30 years of experience, Matt Bryden has a deep background in political and security issues within the Horn of Africa. His work spans extensive research and publications on topics such as terrorism, organized crime, and conflict mitigation, focusing on fragile states and stabilization.

He led a UN sanctions monitoring team addressing threats like insurgency, arms trafficking, and piracy and directed a major research program on post-war reconciliation. With strong ties to political, diplomatic, and military leaders across the region, he is a frequent international speaker, media commentator, and expert witness on peace and security matters.

He is now the Co-Founder & a strategic advisor at SAHAN.
